Panoramic sunset views of Vancouver’s urban skyline, the lush coastal shores of Hornby Island, and amazing Okanagan vineyards… these were the images used to lure visitors to HealthMatch BC’s innovative and award-winning booth at the 2018 Family Medicine Forum (FMF). Once they had the attention of the practicing family physicians, resident doctors and medical students in attendance, Health Match recruiters used the opportunity to talk to them about the benefits of living and working in our beautiful province.
Hosted by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, FMF is the largest gathering of family physicians in Canada. This year’s annual convention was held in Toronto in early November and included professional keynote seminars, celebrations of achievements in family medicine, and an interactive exhibit hall filled with more than 100 vendors, associations, recruiters and technology innovators. Delegates enjoyed social opportunities to recharge and network with peers and colleagues, while seeking new opportunities and career options.
Working in collaboration with regional health employers from Fraser Valley, Vancouver Coastal, the Islands, Northern BC and Interior BC, and representatives of the Divisions of Family Practice, HealthMatch BC designed and developed an exhibitor booth branded as “Jobs for Doctors in BC.” The pentagon-shaped booth featured vivid imagery showcasing each region of British Columbia: Fraser Valley, the Island, the Interior, the North, and Vancouver and the Coast, promoting BC opportunities for doctors and medical graduates. On the final day of the event, the vote was unanimous: HealthMatch BC was recognized with an award for Most Innovative Booth!
