History + Tradition
Utah's Brewing History runs back to 1864 when Henry Wagener established the state's first brewery at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. The Salt Lake Brewing Co. was the biggest brewery west of Milwaukee for around 30 years, producing 100,000 barrels of beer per year.
Emigration Brewing Company brings back the canyon's brewing history and emphasizes the European influence of beer brewing.
Tradition is celebrated through a wood-fired oven and open fire grills — an homage to the settlers coming down Emigration Canyon to settle Salt Lake City. Bespoke craft brewing equipment, our creekside beer garden and traditional beer hall nod to generations of beer lovers.
Food + Drink
Seasonal, locally-sourced and hand-crafted food and drinks are a corner stone of Emigration Brewing Company. Authentic, fresh, high-quality and organic ingredients are the staples of our menu. Good food and drink is what we do.
With beer at the center of our mission, we promise every meal pairs well with our beer.
Local Community
The Emigration Brewing Company is distinctly Utah and uniquely destined for Emigration Canyon. We support local businesses and source locally first. This may include only local brews in store and restaurant.
As a good citizen and neighbor, we aim to create a place of enjoyment and relaxation for all proprietors of the canyon, from cyclists to outdoor lovers and embrace large groups and families.
Sustainability
Emigration Brewing Company is a green and environmentally responsible business. Always green and utilizing renewable energy, we are committed to protecting our natural resources. Recycle everything we can, we also favor organic ingredients and humanely grown meats.
Honest + Generous
Customers, employees and the community at large are always treated like Emigration Brewing Co. family. Creating good jobs and making Emigration Canyon a better place can only happen if we are honest and generous in all our dealings.
Design
Emigration Brewing Company is a place where everybody wants to be. Attention to design makes it a comfortable and welcoming place. While the heritage of the location is clearly rustic, we want it the interior to be clean & simple, light, open & welcoming.
The design and feeling should part with the omni-present dark, cave-like, oppressively masculine aesthetics of brew pubs and sport bars and feel like a place families, women and a younger audience feel comfortable and welcome.
Given its location and the connection to the wildness of the canyon, embracing landscape and our seamless indoor/outdoor concept create spaces to appreciate nature from many areas of the restaurant.
Deliberate in our branding and product design.
