Die diesjährige Weltaustellung steht im Zeichen der Ernährung

Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, will host from May 1 to October 31, 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan will become a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries will show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium. In addition to the exhibitor nations, the Expo also involves international organizations, and expects to welcome over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square meters of exhibition area. A platform for the exchange of ideas and shared solutions on the theme of food, stimulating each country’s creativity and promoting innovation for a sustainable future, Expo 2015 will give everyone the opportunity to find out about, and taste, the world’s best dishes, while discovering the best of the agri-food and gastronomic traditions of each of the exhibitor countries.
Die Weltausstellung, auch als Exposition Universelle Internationale, Exposition Mondiale (Expo) oder World’s Fair bezeichnet, ist eine internationale Ausstellung, die sich in der Zeit der Industrialisierung als technische und kunsthandwerkliche Leistungsschau etablieren konnte. Die offizielle Institution zur Vergabe der Weltausstellungen ist seit 1928 das Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Die durch das BIE anerkannten Weltausstellungen dauern drei bis sechs Monate. Weltausstellungen zeichnen sich oft durch interessante Architektur aus, welche versucht, das Charakteristische des jeweiligen Landes auszudrücken.
Als Thema für die Expo 2015 wurde Den Planeten ernähren, Energie für das Leben (Nutrire il pianeta, energia per la vita) gewählt. Es soll Technologie, Innovation, Kultur, Tradition und Kreativität mit den Themen Ernährung und Essen verbinden und knüpft damit an Themen an, die bereits in früheren Weltausstellungen eine Rolle gespielt hatten (z. B. bei der Expo 2008 in Saragossa mit dem Thema Wasser und nachhaltige Entwicklung). Angesichts neuer globaler Szenarien und aktueller Probleme liegt der Schwerpunkt auf dem Recht aller Menschen auf gesunde und ausreichende Ernährung. Anders als bei bisherigen Weltausstellungen soll diesmal keine Leistungsschau veranstaltet, sondern ein Diskussionsforum geboten werden.
Die einzelnen Pavillons weisen eine Fläche zwischen 500 und 4500 m² auf. Es war vorgesehen, dass 56 % der Fläche begrünt sein werden. Die Expo-Leitung erwartet ein Besucheraufkommen von 20 Millionen, wobei etwa 75 % der Besucher aus Italien stammen dürften.
Theme “Harmonious Diversity“ The Concept Japan joins Expo Milano 2015 with the aim of proposing its food culture as an example of a healthy, sustainable and balanced diet, and as a model that can alleviate the problems of hunger and global ecology. By the same token, it also sees this event as the perfect opportunity for promoting its image following the 2011 earthquake, encouraging tourism and business opportunities. Japan’s participation unfurls essentially around two words: Health and Edutainment, or educational entertainment. Its typical dishes, based on rice, raw fish and vegetables are proposed as a balanced way of eating, contrasting with the excesses that can lead to obesity for a billion people. Projects for schools are also a vehicle for traditional concepts encouraging sharing and discouraging wastefulness. The government has been working since 2005 to educate families on food awareness and seeks recognition from UNESCO for the Japanese diet as a cultural heritage of humanity. Harmony (environmental and aesthetic) and technology, are added to these themes, articulating elements of food preservation on the one hand, and transport systems and food distribution on the other.

AUSTRIA
Breathe Austria. 2012 hat die Bundesregierung eine Teilnahme Österreichs an der EXPO 2015 beschlossen und DI Josef Pröll zum Regierungsbeauftragten ernannt. Das Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft und die Wirtschaftskammer Österreich sind mit der Durchführung beauftragt. Ein EXPO-Büro zur Vorbereitung und Abwicklung wurde installiert.
