The Region 14 Summer Learning Academy is June 3 and 4 at Fairfield High School in Leesburg, Ohio. (11611 State Route 771 Leesburg, OH 45135). Earn up to 12 contact hours. Select sessions will be Step Up to Quality/Ohio Approved. One hour of Ashland credit available for purchase.
NEW! Ohio’s Learning Standards - Extended with Learning Progressions. Last newsletter we shared the new standards, since then OCALI has released the Learning Progressions which now accompany the standards.
A learning progression is a sequence of skills linked to a learning target that build base skills and engagement as learners make progress toward mastery of the standard or learning target.
These LP's are a companion to Ohio’s New Learning Standards and OLS-E and help develop teacher and learner clarity about embedded skills within each standard. Click the link below to access the standards with Learning Progressions.

The Jelly Beamer is wireless so it can easily be passed between students. It has two components, the Jelly Beamer switch and the Jelly Beamer receiver. Each switch is paired with its receiver allowing multiple students to use their own Jelly Beamers at the same time. Comes already paired with a Big Beamer Transmitter Switch.

IEP Breakdown
As of July 1, 2018, districts are required to use the revised version of the State’s Evaluation Team Report and Individualized Education Program forms for the 2018-2019 school year. A notable update on the Preschool Individualized Education Program is the language change in Section 11 (Least Restrictive Environment). Click this link to learn more.
Indicator 6 data reporting requirements have not changed. Continue to utilize the Ohio B6 Decision Tree.
Featured Hopewell Related Service Team: Motor Teams
The Region 14 Motor Team, located out of the Hopewell office strives to serve our region by performing consultations, holding Professional Developments, performing therapy and conducting referrals for students and teachers. The team, that is made of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapists, and Occupational Therapist Assistants collectively has 326 years of experience in their fields. With the most experienced team member having 47 years in her field. The team has held a total of 36 trainings, served 926 students and consulted with 1,203 adults in the past school year. The Motor Team is a vital part of the SOESC Team and their hard work and dedication deserves a round of applause.
