There is a place in Tuscany in which you can find some of the best Italian chocolate masters. It’s called “Chocolate Valley” and it’s located between Pisa, Pistoia and Prato. In Pontedera, there is the historic Amedei chocolate maker, winner of numerous awards including the Golden Bean Award from the Academy of Chocolate in 2013. In Pisa there is Paul de Bondt and Cecilia Iacobelli, among the 15 best chocolate craftsmen in the world. If you stop in Pistoia, you can visit the Slitti chocolate and coffee shop. Worthy of a mention, in Monsummano Terme, there is the ice cream maker Filippo, who produces many chocolate-based flavours, as well as the ice cream shop, Da Gomma, in Montecatini Terme. In Agliana is the handmade chocolate company of Roberto Catinari, a pioneer in the production of chocolate in Tuscany. In Prato, you can stop at Pasticceria Mannori to have handmade pralines, tablets, cakes or chocolate eggs.

Truffle Hunt in Tuscany
While Tuscany is often associated with exceptional wines, it is especially renowned for its truffles. It may come as a surprise to some that San Miniato, a small town in Tuscany, supplies nearly 80% of the world’s precious white truffles.
You will take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience and search for truffles with a truffle-hunting dog through the woods of Tuscany.
Follow the dog hurriedly through the forest as he sniffs about and experience the surge of excitement as he starts digging for this edible treasure (white truffles go for nearly $15,000 per kg).
Truffle tour we made it in San Gimignano, a small town approx. 45 minutes south of Florence.
Truffle(s) found during the hunt belong to the truffle hunter and may be purchased from him according to the day’s bid price on the local market.

Truffle Hunt in Tuscany Program
Have you ever imagined going on a walk in the Tuscan woods with a dog and truffle expert to hunt for truffles? The white truffle, the most precious, aromatic and expensive variety, grows only in Italy from October to December. Its aromas vanish very quickly, within a few days. Therefore the only way to taste high quality truffle is to find it and eat it within a day or two.
The truffle hunt is an exciting and memorable experience, a sacred yet secret ritual rarely witnessed by outsiders and a special way to see Tuscany from a different prospective. Your truffle hunting day will start early in the morning, in the Tuscan Crete Senesi, among Italy’s most important truffle areas. Your local professional truffle hunter (and of course his dog!) will meet you at nine o’clock and accompany you on silent paths through the crisp, misty morning air of the Crete. You will look, listen, and learn and in the end you will almost certainly find the precious tuberous, a moment of great excitement.
The truffle hunt lasts about an hour and a half. Then it’s time to move to the farm and wine cellar for a tasting of local products and a guided sensorial analysis of truffle. Lunch at the farm is available on request at an extra charge of 30 euros per person.
After lunch, make your way through the scenic Tuscan landscape into the region of Chianti. Here you will have the opportunity to experience what is arguably Italy’s most renowned wine, Chianti. Your guide will teach you everything you need to know about the process of winemaking and the techniques involved in attaining a better appreciation of the wine through the tasting.
The school can accommodate 20-25 people. The experience is always private or small group.
Three dishes are made, according to the typical Italian menu, or they can follow a “theme”, based on the client’s request: for example: pasta workshop, ice cream, pizza, vegetarian…
The participants receive apron and recipes. The “private lesson” is for either individuals or groups. The participants are exclusively – or the participant is exclusively –who booked for that space with the chosen recipes.
The chef (Marcella) explains and helps the guests in the execution, that is they are cooking. At the end we sit a nice crystal table to enjoy the meal.
INTIMATE COOKING, it is a class with the same method of the other one, there are two suggested menus, each with four dishes and four paired wines. You can also create your own menu.
After riding two hours of horseback riding through the Chianti hillsides you will meet back at the equestrian center and be treated to a typical Tuscan lunch of salamis, cheeses, meats, fresh vegetables and wines from the very vineyards you rode through that day. We will viist Chianti before or after the horseback riding experience (according the availability of the horses).

How to reach the Balloon field?
Enjoy the Pilot-dance
The experience starts from the inflation of the balloon at ground level, a moment which has all the anticipation of flying…defined by one observer “the Pilot-dance”. Once the balloon is ready, it’s time to jump up into the basket and prepare one’s camera…We fly in the early morning (6:00 AM) just after dawn. The inflation takes about 45 minutes, and the flight approximately 1 hour depending on wind and weather conditions. After landing we load the balloon back onto the retrieving vehicles trailer which follows the balloon throughout the flight. Once the balloon is packed away we move on to enjoy a marvellous champagne breakfast with local produce. After breakfast we drive back to the launch field. The whole adventure takes about three and a half hours.Rides last from 45 minutes to one and a half hours, during which, thanks also to smooth flying conditions, you may take the opportunity to shoot wonderful images of exclusively Tuscan landscape: admire the infamous “red-roofed” towns and follow the course of bashful wild animals taking “flight” in the fields below… The first light of dawn creates the magic frame for the scene your eyes are observing

While flying above you can learn about the terrain and its history from the Pilot’s (tall) tales. At the end of the tour, having had a smooth landing, and following in the tradition of Hot Air Balloon fans, the success of the flight shall be celebrated with a glass of champagne and breakfast! In Tenuta Torciano Winery you will have a visit of the vineyards, the cellar and you will experience one hour of truffle hunting in the private truffle hood of the Winery. Accompanied by a professional guide with his trained dogs you can share a wonderful experience in searching for truffle throughout the oak forests that border Tenuta Torciano. In this private truffle land, you will discover precious white and black truffles and you will be taught how to identify the various species of trees and the ideal habitat for truffle growth.
