Coker Cobras
The Coker College women's basketball is looking to carry a follow up their win last time out against Queens on Dec. 19 as they welcome the Anderson University Trojans to Hartsville for a South Atlantic Conference tilt.
In the 87-85 win at Queens, the Cobras closed out a tight contest, in which they trailed at the half, by outscoring the Royals 41-38 in the second half. One of the keys to the win was the excellent play by Ashauntee Nelson to close out the game. Nelson put the team on her back by scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter and the final six points of the game. In total, Nelson notched a career-high of 21 points.
Hayley Kropp also had a nice game with 13 points and five rebounds, while Saquita Joyner notched 11 points and five rebounds. Erin Houser was the fourth Cobra to reach double figures as she had 10 points and six rebounds. Amanda Cherry, Hope Richardson, and Haliyah Sumter all picked up five points, while Shay Jackson and Janell Horton each recorded two points.
Tomorrow's game is set to tipoff at 2:00 PM at the Harris E. and Louis H. DeLoach Center. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
