OUR SCHOOL VALUES Viewbank Primary School has four school values - RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY TO SELF, DOING YOUR BEST and HONESTY AND TRUSTWORTHINESS. Each day we ask our students and staff to use these values to guide their actions and decisions. We also ask that our parents and wider school community follow these values when visiting the school and interacting with others. In doing this, we can together create a harmonious school environment where everyone feels safe and supported. Our school values are constantly referred to, discussed and modelled.
I asked a number of students in 3/4F what they think RESPECT looks like at our school.
This is what they had to say:
- Students helping other students and complimenting each other – Max, Cooper, Adam
- Not putting others down because of their ideas
- Listening and looking at the person talking and not interrupting or whispering - Ella and Tehya
- Asking students to have a say in things (student voice) - Zara
- People being kind and polite to each other - Amy
- Teachers being fair to everyone – Amrita
- Treating others like you want to be treated. If you show respect you get respect – Ella
Thank you for modelling our school values.
Have a great week.
Gill Nicholls
