Functionality

  • Reminders: Easy to navigate, designed like a real checklist.
  • Alarm: On/off button, simple to use, set the time and wait.
  • Voice Memos: simple record and stop button, shows the sound waves to you as it's recording so you know it's working.

Reliability

  • Google docs: Cloud-based system, can access documents anywhere.
  • Gmail: Design looks similar on every device. Able to take your emails on the go.
  • Canvas: Sends user grades as the teacher puts them in. Up-to-date based on the user's schedule.

Usability

  • Macbook: Can use finder or help if you need to. Search button in upper right corner helps. Everything you want to use daily can be in the pull-up bar.
  • Apple Maps: Uses your location and you put in where you need to go. Simple instructions, easy to follow.
  • Google chrome: Faster connection than most other browsers, google search is the home page so it's easy to navigate.

Convenience

  • Doordash: If you put in your address, it remembers it as well as your bank account information for quick purchases.
  • Lime scooters app: It's extremely simple to use. You only need to put in your bank account information and scan the scooter's code and ride.
  • Uber: Uses your location. Barely any steps. You just need to put in your bank account information.

Enjoyability

  • Tiktok: Scroll feature lets users simply scroll endlessly. Ability to switch between the algorithmic "for you page" and who you're following.
  • Instagram: Has an algorithm based on what the user likes. Multiple options for how to see content; pictures, videos, stories, reels, boomerangs, etc.
  • Netflix Party: Gives people the ability to watch Netflix together over the internet. Simply send the link and the people can chat in the chat bar.

Significance

  • Premiere Pro: Provides creatives with the tools to create incredible work. Improves video editing skills.
  • Duolingo: Teaches people a language. Reminds them when they should be practicing. Has voice command options to speak to the app.
  • Audible: Helps people read more in a shorter amount of time. Provides ability to multitask.
