EAST LANSING, Mich. — No. 22 Penn State earned just its second win in 25 trips to Michigan State with a 75-70 victory over the Spartans in a Big Ten matchup Tuesday night.
Senior forward Lamar Stevens finished with a team-high 24 points, including going 4-for-4 from the foul line in the game's final 16 seconds. Sophomore guard Myreon Jones added 20 points, draining six 3-pointers, and five assists.
HEAD COACH PATRICK CHAMBERS
- Head Coach Patrick Chambers is in his ninth season leading the Nittany Lions and now has 144 wins at Penn State, fifth on the program’s all-time list.
- Chambers' players have earned 29 Big Ten Conference honors, the most under any Penn State coach.
- Chambers has 18 wins over Associated Press-ranked opponents, most of any Nittany Lion basketball coach.
- The Philadelphia native previously spent two seasons as head coach at Boston University, guiding the Terriers to their first NCAA Tournament berth in nine years in 2010-11.
- Chambers was also associate head coach of a Villanova team that reached the 2009 Final Four.

- Sophomore center Daniel Oturu leads the Golden Gophers with 19.6 points per game and a Big Ten-best 11.3 rebounds per outing. He's also second in the Big Ten with 58 blocked shots. Redshirt sophomore guard Marcus Carr leads Minnesota with 6.8 assists per game.
- Head coach Richard Pitino, now in his seventh year at Minnesota, has guided the Golden Gophers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in the past three seasons. He was also named the 2017 Big Ten Coach of the Year after the Golden Gophers won a school-record 23 games and earned their first NCAA berth since 2013.

Sophomore Guard
- Jones has had a breakout season, tripling his offensive production with 14.1 points per game and leading the team in both 3-point field goals ( 52) and assists (66).
- Posted 20 points in win over No. 16 Michigan State, his sixth career game with 20 or more points. Jones recorded a career-best 22 vs. Wake Forest in the B1G/ACC Challenge earlier this season.
- Played senior season at Lincoln Academy in Suwanee, Georgia, leading the Bulldogs to a 25-9 record.

The Bryce Jordan Center, one of the premier collegiate basketball facilities in the nation, is the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. Located on Curtin Road adjacent to Beaver Stadium, the spacious arena has a seating capacity of 15,261 for basketball and 16,000-plus for other events. The Jordan Center has a variety of uses, including athletic competitions, commencements and other academic events, trade shows, popular music concerts, artistic and cultural performances and family events. The Bryce Jordan Center is the largest arena in the state outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
