Four-star recruit wide receiver and U.S. National Team football member Jalen Reagor joins the TCU Frog family for more than just football.
The Frogs were able to flip Reagor from his original commitment to Oklahoma to be closer to his family. He received offers from a total of 21 schools including: TCU, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, Mississippi State, Mizzou, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Washington.
Reagor said he wants to be close to home because he shares a special relationship with his grandmother and she's been sick, but getting better.
"He comes from tradition and you've got to love his family," Coach Patterson said.
"My dad, my mom and my grandma are my triangle. When they're happy, I'm happy."
Reagor's father, Montae Reagor, inspired him to play college football. Montae Reagor played for Texas Tech and spent nine seasons in the NFL, including being a part of the 2006 Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl XLI win.
Reagor said his dream is to play for the Dallas Cowboys, "America's team."
"I'm following my dad's legacy and have loved football since I was a baby," Reagor said.
The thought of a potential house divided for the TCU versus Tech game already has Reagor tenacious for the win.
"I'm ready to beat them," Reagor said. "But I know my dad will end up cheering for TCU."
The four-star wide receiver totaled 50 receptions for 967 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns during his senior crusade at Waxahachie High School. He also contributed in other ways during his last season by carrying the ball 20 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Coach Patterson said Reagor has a motor and a 'want to' attitude.
Reagor said while it was enticing to hear Patterson tell him he would play early, he knew Patterson would also offer more than just football.
"He's going to train me to be a man instead of just a football player."
