Coker cobras
The Coker University men's soccer team is preparing to host nationally ranked Francis Marion University (No. 15) on Wednesday (Oct. 30). The Patriots won the first match-up of the season 5-0 on Sept. 7. The Cobras will be seeking revenge as the team prepares for the final stretch of the season.
"We are excited for the opportunity to prove ourselves against a nationally ranked team," said coach michael antoniewicz. "It's important for us to remain patient and confident throughout the match."
Player to watch
Touroukis, a freshman midfielder from Greece, is tied for the team lead in assists this season with three. Markos assisted on both goals on Sunday (Oct. 27) in the loss at Tusculum, connecting with Robi Obrstar and Steffen Husum off corner kicks.

The Francis Marion University Patriots enter Wednesday's match (Oct. 30) with a record of 10-2-1, which has earned them a spot in the national NCAA Division II rankings at No. 15. The Patriots have now been ranked for six consecutive weeks. Prior to the season, Francis Marion was picked to finish fourth in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). Sophomores Sam Pollard and Sidney Warden were named to the men's soccer preseason All-Conference Team.
On Sept. 23, forward Alvaro Zamora was named the PBC Player of the Week, and junior Maximiliano Rocco was selected as the Goalkeeper of the Week. On Oct. 21, junior Javier Morcillo was named the PBC Defender of the Week. These players have helped guide the Patriots to as high as No. 7 in the national rankings, currently riding a five match winning streak.

Bello, a sophomore forward from Spain, is the leading scorer for the Patriots this season with six goals and 13 points. Javier has scored in three of the last four matches, including one goal and one assist in the Sept. 7 match against Coker.
