Burma and Thailand ministry update | December 2021

Dear Christian friends and supporters,

May you all have the joy and the peace from Jesus Christ who was born in Bethlehem, as you celebrate His wonderful birth! The apostle Paul said, "May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13 NIV).

Christmas time in Thailand and Burma is a special time for evangelism. Boonporn's home church of Karen is planning to go to two non-Christian villages, to witness and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. Evangelist Jonah Konglang of Hlegu church in Yangon will be holding an evangelistic

rally in Chin State of Burma. Let us pray for these events so that people will open their hearts to the Good News of Jesus Christ in those places, and for safety in traveling.

We want to share with you about the joy of 7 baptisms in October and November in Yangon.

Praise the Lord! In spite of the danger of military persecution, 5 people were baptized in Hlegu church, and 2 men at Shwebyda church. They all are Burmese converted from Buddhism. All the Burmese who have been converted from Buddhism have turned out to be very faithful Christians.

Through your support for the hungry Christians, we are able to distribute food twice a month to all members of the Burmese Christians in the 7 townships of Yangon. Because of the political turmoil and civil unrest, most of the members of Burmese Chirstians lost their jobs. Thank you so very much for your kind and generous gifts to help your Burmese brothers and sisters survive of the unexpected tragedies. The political situation in Burma is still uncertain and dangerous. The Burmese armies arrest and kill people every day countrywide, bomb villages and burn homes and villages and raped girls and women of all ages. The Burmese military continues using the villagers as their shields as they are fighting with civil troops and committing inhuman activities all along. In America, you do not get much of the bad news about Burma. Haing Taya church of Ba Thein Aung was threatened to be destroyed by the Burmese army unless he pays so he had to pay 50,000 Burmese kyats. The coup leaders even persecuted the Christians. Please pray for evangelists and their works in Burma. Please pray with us also for the entire Burma for the Lord's intervention soon.

The pictures of food distribution are just examples of distributions to over 110 families. The people in four townships could not send their pictures because of their internet being cut off and also due to the danger of sending pictures.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your faithful prayers and the financial support. Without your prayer and financial support we could do little in this time of trouble in Burma. May God bless you all richly.

With our deepest gratitude,

Jerry and Boonporn
