Seven Mile Elementary School PBIS Kickoff

Last year Seven Mile Elementary launched PBIS as a school-wide initiative to encourage and acknowledge positive behaviors. The program was hugely successful and changed the school community and culture in a BIG way. There were several factors that contributed to their first-year success, which lead them to a Bronze rating by the Ohio Department of Education. The staff (from custodians, bus drivers, aides, office staff, and teachers) went all in and completely embraced the program - from common language, consistent expectations, and coherent acknowledgment system. Parents, families, and even the community were on board with the behavior expectations and provided Seven Mile with lots of positive feedback. PBIS implementation results came by way of better attendance rates, fewer office referrals, and higher achievement scores. These pictures are from their Back to School PBIS Kickoff Assembly where staff modeled what NOT to do in the cafeteria!
