With this first-half goal line stand, Alcoa's top-ranked defense set sail on its sixth shutout of the season, the Tornadoes going on to blank Johnson County, 49-0, in a Class 3A playoff opener. The doughnut dropped Alcoa's points against average to a state-best 3.9 per game. The kickoff team is part of the defense, at least technically. Senior and reigning Juke King Ahmaudd Sankey paced the Alcoa offense on the night with 11 carries for 141 yards and a touchdown as the Tornadoes advanced.
