Brad Griggs of Canine Services International's The STIM podcast writes about his recent chat with K9 Solutions Australia's Jason Kelly.

Jason is a consummate dog training professional who produces high quality working dogs for high level applications by LE/MIL/GOVT units. Developing high quality working dogs for high end jobs with law enforcement, military and government roles is the sole focus of the family operated, veteran owned K9 Solutions Australia (www.k9solutionsaustralia.com.au). I was honoured that he trusted me to help share his story.

Jason has earned a strong reputation as being very humble, highly capable, and zero bullshit dogman. This is the personal story of one of the Australian dog world’s more quiet achievers, and he’s never shared his story in a public format before now. As you can tell, Jase isn't much one for the limelight, so I was truly honoured that he trusted me to have this conversation.

Jase’s K9 training experience within the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) included a posting to an elite Special Operations Command (SOCOM) unit which involved him maintaining, developing and caring for a group of world class dogs that supported Aussie operators in some of the most demanding and complex environments and scenarios possible.

After exiting the Australian military, Jason has gone from strength to strength with his own business, producing highly trained dogs that are destined for difficult and dangerous roles with agencies and organisations within Australia and abroad. This conversation is wonderfully candid - it’s not sugar coated in any way and we hope that you can all get a real feel for some of what Jase went though on his dog training journey.

We certainly cover a lot of ground in this episode of The STIM...Jason's career, his posting to an elite special operations unit, the ups and downs of military life, and of course, plenty about dogs.

Unfortunately this episode’s audio isn’t as clear as we’d like due to the conversation being had over Zoom, and you’ll hear some garbled audio from time to time. I’ve done the best I can to edit it for clarity, but this really isn’t my skill set. Regardless, I found this to be a great story that showcases the genesis of a true dogman.

It's a really different perspective on a very important part of the dog training community, and I hope this really hits the mark for those of you that are lovers of dogs and dog training.

STIM stands for the Stuff That Interests Me and is about sharing conversations that help me and a merry band of revolving co-hosts and guests to discover more about a variety of topics. Though these topics will evolve over time, you can bet your ass that dogs, dog training and related areas will be right at the top of the list.
