LADY GAGA

Lady Gaga is a famous American songwriter and singer. Born in 1986, at the age of 20, she began her career by writing songs for other artists. Some of her popular songs are Bad Romance, Poker Face, and Just Dance. She has won a total of 11 Grammys and has been nominated 29 times. In 2019, she won an Oscar for Best Original Song. She is a huge advocate for mental health. In 2012, she even founded a “Born This Way Foundation” for the wellness of young people.

JENNIFER LOPEZ

Jennifer Lopez, also known as JLo, is a Puerto Rican American singer and actress. She is one of the highest-paid Latina actresses. One of her most notable performances was at the Super Bowl LIVE halftime show in 2020 when she performed with Shakira. The act was supposed to reflect the Latinx culture of Miami, where the Super Bowl took place that year. She has won two Grammys.

ALICIA KEYS

Alicia Keys is an American Songwriter. Some of her great songs are If I ain’t got you, Fallin’, and Underdog. In fact, she started composing songs at just the age of 12. At only 15 years old, she was signed by Columbia. Her debuting album, Songs in A Minor, was a huge hit and sold 236,000 copies in just the first week. Throughout her career, she has won a total of five Grammys. Alicia Keys is the ambassador of the non-profit organization,“Keep a Child Alive,” and she is a huge advocate for Women’s rights.

TONI MORRISON

Toni Morrison was a writer and college professor. Born in the 1930s, she was known for her novels about African-American people and the suppression they face. Some of her most famous works include Beloved, The Bluest Eye, and Song of Solomon. She was recognized for her antiracist and feministic views, even though she didn’t call herself a feminist.

MAYA ANGELOU

Maya Angelou is a civil rights activist, memoirist, and poet. She is best known for her memoir, “I know why the caged bird sings.” She is a huge advocate for both racism and sexism. Throughout her lifetime, she has done many things to advocate for racism; through her poems, she brought strength to the African-American community, organized the “Cabaret of Freedom” and became the coordinator for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
