The “Your Voice, Your Choice” programme is a new and exciting opportunity for every child and young person, aged 8 – 18, living in Musselburgh, Old Craighall, Wallyford or Whitecraig to submit an idea (project) for funding up to a maximum of £2000.
The programme is being funded with £20,000 from the Musselburgh Area Partnership and supported by East Lothian Council via the Scottish Community Choices Fund. Not only are our children and young people invited to submit their ideas, they will also be the only people who will decide which projects get funded on the “Your Voice, Your Choice” Decision Day on February 27th, 2018.
What types of ideas, or projects, can be submitted?
Any type of idea (project) can be submitted that you think will have a positive effect in your community by:
Why are we doing this?
This project aspires to provide our children with the opportunity to take ownership in the way in which their communities are developed; participate in the decision making process as to which projects are funded; build a greater sense of belonging by creating a community where their voices are heard; create a sense of achievement by participating in the process and by building confidence and self-belief in their ability to make a difference in their community.
