“I think we are getting into football shape,” head coach Mark Nofri said after Saturday’s scrimmage. “After a week and one day of practicing and conditioning, we are getting there. I think we have a way to go in terms of execution, playing disciplined and playing smart. But I do like the fact that I see a lot of kids running around, flying to the ball, and stepping up and making plays at the skill positions.”
After battling the heat and humidity throughout much of the week, SHU waited out a thunderstorm before battling through raindrops during much of Saturday’s scrimmage
“It’s been hot and we’ve practiced earlier in the morning. It’s part of football camp and getting yourself in shape. To me, toughness is being able to do your job to the best of your abilities and executing when you’re hot and tired. Being able to perform at 100 percent when it is hot and the humidity is high, and not pushing or shoving after the whistle, that’s toughness. Staying focused on doing your job and doing it right.” - Mark Nofri
Both season and single-game tickets are on sale now for the upcoming 2018 season. SHU will host five games at Campus Field including the season opener on Sept. 1 against Lafayette. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
