Mentor Teachers PD 1/2: Urban Education

Thank you for welcoming a University of Houston-Downtown student teacher to your classroom. We are extremely thankful that you have agreed to share your time and talents this year as a Mentor Teacher!

Log into TK20

Your initial username and password is your work e-mail (all lowercase). You will be prompted to change your password the first time you log in.

If you forget your password, e-mail Richard Simonds, MSW at simondsr@uhd.edu to reset your password back to your work e-mail.

Navigation

1. Access Field Experience Binder through the task bar on the left hand side of the screen. Click on "Field Experience" to access your students information.

Your students name will be in blue and this will open the binder for you to complete your forms

2. Your students binder will open as a split screen. You will be able to see you students work on the left hand side and your forms will be on the right.

After you complete each form, the flag will disappear

3. There are two types of forms for you to complete. Assessment Forms and Confirmation Forms.

  • Assessment Forms - forms where you complete an assessment of your student throughout the semester. There are 3 assessment forms to complete.
  • Confirmation Forms - forms where you click a box to attach an electronic signature. These forms correspond to assessment forms your student teacher or UHD professor completes. There are 4 confirmations forms and all have the word Confirmation in the title.

4. When you are finished with each form, click save at the bottom.

5. Communicate with your student and the UHD professor you are working with to determine when each of these forms needs to be completed.

Time Logs

Each day a student teacher is present on campus will create a time log in TK20

When the students have logged several days they will submit their time to you for approval. You will receive an email from the "College of Education"

The link in the e-mail will take you to an online portal to approve/reject your students time.

If you do not receive an e-mail from TK20 and your student has submitted their time, a direct link can be e-mailed to you to approve the time. Each time

TIPS

  • TK20 works best using Google Chrome
  • There is a 'Grade' area on each form. This area is hard coded and does not need to be completed.
  • Always remember to hit save, save, save & save.

Submitting the Field Binder

At the end of the semester, when you are finished uploading all documents and completing all forms, you can submit your binder.

If you submit your binder and still need to add additional information, e-mail tk20cpshelp@uhd.edu to unlock your binder
