Idaho has plenty of hidden gems. It’s rightly named the Gem State for its abundance of natural resources, such as minerals, snow-caps, rivers, and hot springs!
Lava Hot Springs is a favorite of ours, due to its proximity to our homebase of Park City, UT.
Here, Nick is going from 100+ degrees to 40. With proper breathing techniques, he can work up to 2 minutes in the cold plunge.
Our massage practitioner in Lava was wonderful. He specialized in Thai Yoga and got us both back into alignment. A perfect compliment to a day spent soaking and detoxifying in the hot springs.
Fall is a beautiful time to visit, with vibrant colors, crisp air, and fewer crowds.
On this last trip, we “Van-lifed” it. The weather was just warm enough to be outside as much as possible. Nick installed a new memory foam mattress and a rooftop deck with a ladder for optimal sun exposure and stargazing.
We enjoyed experimenting with new recipes that can be made with a slow cooker and skillet. (Veggie burritos for the win!) It was super convenient to be able to come out to the van for a lunch break between our hot and cold plunges.
Summertime Girls’ Camp-Out at the cutest spot. The adorable vintage trailers around the camp were thoughtfully and beautifully restored. It’s only a short trail walk to the pools. It may have been a somewhat challenging trek in darkness on the way back, but we donned head lamps and laughed the whole way..
