Take a moment to look at the next three photos.

What did you notice?

Maybe it was joy, culture, or collaboration? We believe that this type of learning experience should be accessible for all students of West Hawai'i.

To test our beliefs and assumptions of what best excites and supports students in an equitable way we applied to the 4.0 Schools Essentials Fellowship program.

4.0 Offices | New Orleans, Louisiana

Through our experience of mentorship, cohort activities, modular learning around equitable design, we began planning our first pop up for the housing complex at Ulu Wini.

To move our vision along, on April 16, 2019 we had the opportunity to present our idea for learning at the inaugural Spark & Inspire event co-hosted by Hawai'i Kids Can and Teach for America Hawai'i.

A quick selfie to calm our nerves before presenting.

A featured part of our presentation was having the opportunity of presenting to a panel of expert advisors for feedback and questions.

  • Ian Kitajima, Director of Corporate Development, Oceanit
  • Catherine Payne, Chairperson, Hawaiʻi State Board of Education
