KNB 126 A2 Motion Graphics Project - Green World

Research

The TeamLab - Borderless exhibition is a key inspiration for this project:

Especially the Digital Forest: https://borderless.teamlab.art/ew/flowerforest/

I want to explore the idea of a growing, changing world, taking inspiration from the Digital Forrest. I really like the Borderless inspiration piece as it is constantly changing and evolving. It also showcases new applications for New Media, design and the developing connection between digital design and the physical world, which I find particularly relevant to this assessment brief.

Ferns Unfurling and growing

This video is the most influential in terms of motion and growth, the leaves unfurl along a path that starts out simply and then the growing leaves scale up over time, making the scene much more complex.

QUT’s new Education Precinct and Sphere unveiled

Developed by QUT’s Visualisation and eResearch (ViseR) team, in collaboration with ProAV Solutions. The Sphere was sourced from Leyard.

According to ProAV solutions:

"A custom video processor was required to merge the PC signal which is sent to the Sphere in two halves via customised video transport over fibre".

"It is tough to wrangle content to". - Pro AV Solutions (1:10)

Motion Experiments

Motion Test Stage 1

A test scene experimenting with the different stages of the animation and the pacing.

All elements of the scene above are placeholders and do not represent the final look of Project Bloom.

Motion Test Stage 2

This motion experiment focuses on the second phase of the animation, the ‘Dreamscape’ section where everything turns into the digital dreamworld, the first half of the video is still the same and contains placeholder images and animation. Phase two contains particle effects, symbolising the digital metamorphosis that has taken place within the simulation.

All elements of the scene above are placeholders and do not represent the final look of Project Bloom.
