Homecoming 2019 Saturday, Oct. 26

Fans welcomed the Pirates back to Greenville with a week of festivities culminating in the homecoming parade and the football game against South Florida on Saturday, Oct. 28.

King and Queen

The Homecoming King and Queen were announced at halftime. Taylor Chappell of Alpha Omicron Pi was named queen and Sigma Nu’s Noah Rogers was crowned as king.

Freeboot Friday

On Friday evening the action was at Five Points Plaza in uptown Greenville as fans gathered for the homecoming pep rally edition of Freeboot Friday.

Banner Competition

Throughout the week, homecoming banners were displayed in the Student Recreation Center for judging.

Week of Festivities

The Cirque de Pirates homecoming concert kicked off the week on Sunday, Oct. 20, with a concert sponsored by the Student Activities Board featuring B.O.B. and JoJo.

Other homecoming week events included a skit competition, blood drive, canned food drive, the Purple and Gold Evening awards ceremony hosted by the ECU Alumni Association, tailgating, and individual events hosted by schools, colleges and departments.

Step Competition

The ECU chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council hosted a step competition on Friday in the Main Campus Student Center ballroom. The Eta Mu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority won First Place Sorority and First Place Overall.

Party on the Porch

ECU’s Honors College hosted Party on the Porch at Brock’s Farm on Friday.

“Party on the Porch was a wonderful opportunity for people to relax and enjoy themselves, get more connected to the Honors College and the university, meet new people and form connections with our alumni.”

Homecoming Parade

The parade, a community favorite, kicked off Saturday's festivities before the game.

The parade route stretched along Fifth Street from Hilltop Street to Evans.

Alumni Awards

Robert Brinkley ’78, Wanda Montano ’74, James Mullen III ’74 ’80, Christa Reiser, Kenneth Wilson and Lauren Patterson ’11 ’13 were honored as alumni awards recipients during halftime of the homecoming football game.
