History behind the Odyssey By Joseph LeBeau

The Trojan War

The Trojan War was between the Greeks and the city of Troy. The Trojan prince Paris kidnapped Queen Helen of Sparta. Her brother then got together a army to retrieve her with some of the biggest Greek heros like Achilles, Odysseus, Nestor and Ajax. The war went on for 10 years until the Greeks tricked the Trojans with a wooden horse they thought was a gift. They ground the huge wooden horse into their city and at night Greek warriors came out and defeated Troy from the inside.

The heros of Greek greatly affected the war. With their strength and smartness they led the Greeks to victory. They retrieved Queen Helen safely as well
