At this Saturday's Open House, the California Raptor Center will be honoring the memory of long-time donor and UC Davis alumnus David Snyder, who passed away earlier this year.
Plaques in David’s name will be added to three raptor works of art that were donated to the center through his estate. A collection of raptor art that he had gifted previously greet veterinary students and visitors on the second floor of Gladys Valley Hall on campus.
David, a retired state archivist and lover of the outdoors, made a provision to the California Raptor Center to set up an endowment to provide ongoing funds for the Center into the future.
“David always shied away from recognition, but we are forever grateful for his generosity and kindness to the Center and its birds. His love for birds of prey has always been well known to his family and friends, and we plan to utilize these funds for the much needed care and rehabilitation of these beloved birds in his name well into the future.”-Michelle Hawkins, Director of the CRC
