CGEMC REMAINS AMONG THE LOWEST-COST ENERGY PROVIDERS IN THE STATE

The Public Service Commission's Summer Residential Survey seasonally ranks all 94 electricity providers in Georgia. We are excited to announce that Central Georgia EMC is once again ranked among the lowest-cost providers at both the 1,500 kilowatt-hour (kWh) and 2,000 kWh levels.

We can’t control the weather, but we do our best to manage the impact it has on your bill. We work diligently year-round to keep your rates low and our level of service high. As a result, you save more on your energy use than 95 percent of the state! At the 1,500 kWh level, that’s a savings of $32.19 per month when compared with the state average.

So, don’t sweat it! We have your best interest in mind when it comes to savings—no matter what the weather brings.

We are so thankful for our customer-owners who participate in Operation Round Up. When you elect to round up your bill to the nearest dollar, you make an extraordinary impact in your community.

On average, participants contribute around $6 a year. That small amount has done GREAT things this year, funding worthy causes, such as:

  • Support for families experiencing the loss of an infant.
  • A wheechair-accessible van for children.
  • Camp scholarships for 4-H students.
  • Mentorship opportunities for at-risk high school students.
  • Parent resources for the prevention of child abuse.
  • Medications for individuals with cancer.

Because of the high summer temperatures, CGEMC initiated load management 15 times between June 1 and August 31, 2019, for a total energy savings of about 1 million kilowatt-hours during peak energy use times!
