Douro Valley adventure

Portugal may be famous for its port wine, but there's much more to discover (and taste). Visit wine cellars, taste delicious wine and cruise the Duoro river that feeds this beautiful area.

Day 1. Welcome to Porto!

Feel the vibrancy in the air as you land in the colorful, seaside city of Porto.

  • Pick up your rental car and make your way to your first luxurious accommodation!

After you settle in, take a walk over the Dom Luís I Bridge and gaze out at breathtaking views of the city. Stroll around the iconic Ribeira District, then treat yourself to an authentic first night meal in Portugal's food capital. Clink glasses to an amazing journey!

Day 2. Porto

After breakfast, enjoy your included Oporto river cruise and wine cellar visit!

Spend the afternoon weaving in and out of Porto's ornate palaces and churches. Be sure to visit the neoclassical landmark of Palacio da Bolsa, the Gothic Church of Sao Francisco, and the Clerigos Church.

Calling all book worms, check out the amazing Livraria Lello bookstore! Gawk at its towering wooden stacks and climb the famous grand red staircase of one of the oldest bookstores in Portugal.

Oporto River Cruise & Wine Cellar Visit

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and sits at the mouth of the iconic Douro River. One of Porto's major attractions are the river cruises along the Douro River Valley. On a one-hour cruise, see the city from the river and pass under the six bridges that connect Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.

Back in Porto, visit a port wine cave where the blending of the famous wine takes place. Learn the fascinating history of port wine, then enjoy a tasting of local wines!

Day 3. Porto - Douro

Take a short scenic drive to the rolling green hills of Douro Valley.

This vine-covered UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the famous Port Wine, as well as tons of picturesque wineries.

Day 5. Douro - Lisbon

Day 6. Lisbon

Wake up early and discover all the "must-sees" of this fascinating city.

Come face-to-face with the world-famous Jeronimos Monastery, climb the Sao Jorge Castle, and take pictures in front of the majestic Belem Tower.

If you're feeling adventurous, take a 30-minute drive to the fairytale-like palaces and castles of Sintra!
