A Durham Christmas Getting ready for the Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge

All of the teams descend on the bare trees at one time & get to work

For the 7th year, the area to the side of DPAC & Aloft glows with over 50 Christmas trees. It's part of a competition to raise awareness (and hopefully snag one of ten prizes) for local Durham nonprofits & businesses.

Organizations get a beautiful chance to show off the good they do in Durham

Making some great progress!
“I'll grab my chainsaw!” (a phrase not often heard in downtown Durham)

So, with the Grinch watching over the scene, we'll let everyone get on with their work...

The Christmas Tree Challenge is rapidly becoming a fixture on all of our Christmas outing lists. Check it out over the next few weeks... it's lovely day or night.

Voting has ended. Congratulations to the winners (many winning trees show up in the photos, by the way!)

Let's support the sponsors... this is getting to be such a cute part of our Durham holidays.
