The library community room has temporarily been turned into an assembly room for creativity bags that will be delivered to local school kids who don't have access to the internet. The bags are being filled with with craft supplies , activity sheets and of course, each child will receive a book. -Katie Murphy, Library Assistant

Susie Jenkins working on sending out seeds by mail. The library will be closed through peak of the planting season. With so many community members currently jobless, we prioritize our Seed Library to try and mitigate the looming fresh food gap.

The Sandy Seed Library program began in April 2017. We currently have 309 members who receive our monthly email newsletter.

Sandy Seed Library is a free seed project committed to increasing the capacity of our community to feed itself wholesome food by means of education that fosters community resilience, self-reliance and a culture of sharing.

Shelf health is very important to circulation. We can't help you find books if they are out of order. Occasionally, we will go through and check that books are in order and good condition. Dianne is working to "read the shelves" at the Hoodland Public Library

#SandyLibraryChalkChallenge was created by our Teen Librarian Rebecca Robinowitz. Sandy Public Library would like to challenge you to decorate the end of your driveway or sidewalk with a positive message as a way to connect with your community and neighbors. Post a picture on Facebook, nominate two friends to join the challenge and tag us! Help us spread kindness and a positive message!

I hope that the community knows that their library is thinking of innovative ways to connect and serve. I hope they know we are here for them by phone and online. We understand we are all in this together. Let's work together to spread kindness, look out for one another, and spread a positive message.

I hope this projects spreads a message of perseverance, positivity and connectedness within our communities IRL and online. - Rebecca Robinowitz

Our Friend's Group keeps our programming going! Here is one of the Friends of the Sandy Library getting ready for their Book Sale. They recently hosted a fundraiser to purchase new computers and a new public copier.
