Journey from micro scale to macro level
I am Anastasia and I am presenting to you a learning endeavour coordinated by teachers Steliana Marginean, Laura Brie and Daniela Bunea motivated by the hustle-and-bustle that I will always remember from the meeting in Oberwart, Austria back in November 2018.
What happened was, in short, that I travelled with many of my schoolmates from a very down-to-earth array of activities in the forest in Austria, consisting of educational tasks such as measuring, counting, looking for life, building a track and so on, to a whole-world display of terrestrial forces with the help of a spectacular documentary entitled “Our violent planet” watched in my home town Sibiu, and all in a matter of weeks!
The documentary “Our violent planet”, made in 2018 in Germany, presents a devastating earthquake, a gigantic volcanic eruption, huge tsunami waves and continental drifting, carrying the viewers in the middle of them and surrounding them with sensations.
It is a very interesting documentary, and I have collected pictures taken, and testimonies made, by some of my schoolmates who were really impressed with it.
Ana: "The atmosphere inside the Dome was excellent - quiet, warm, a little cramped, and the most beautiful thing was that you could sit down and relax on the fluffy armchairs, and the film made you feel you were in the middle of the events. The title, Our violent planet, makes you think about beating perhaps, but it is not like that. The film talks about various extreme natural phenomena that have destroyed some cities in the past and that still threaten the Earth now. This documentary gave us much information about our planet."
Andreea: "I liked Our violent planet because it is about a current theme related to the nature that surrounds us. Though people have developed amazing technologies, there will always be the danger of being overwhelmed by nature. The conclusion is that we humans are helpless in the face of nature, which helps us to survive, but it can also destroy us at any moment."
Andra: "Our violent planet seemed very interesting to me, but at the same time, it was sad to see how many unforeseen incidents took place on Earth, which, unfortunately, could not be stopped."
Go watch the documentary yourselves, it is worth it!
