Cotton Bowl CHAMPS Buckeyes close out 2017 with convincing win over USC

PREGAME

FIRST QUARTER

Ohio State 7, USC 0

Ohio State took advantage of an early USC turnover in its own territory and J.T. Barrett ran in his 48th career touchdown from a yard out near the end of the quarter giving the Buckeyes the 7-0 lead.

SECOND QUARTER

Ohio State 24, USC 7

Following a field goal on the opening play of the second quarter, Ohio State scored 10 points in 13 seconds of game time as Damon Webb kept the scoring rolling with a pick 6 giving the Buckeyes a 17-0 lead.

Barrett capped a 2-play, 59 yard drive after another USC turnover as the Buckeyes extended their lead to 24-0.

HALFTIME SNAPS

THIRD QUARTER

OHIO STATE 24, USC 7

Following a USC TD to end the first half, the Silver Bullets held strong holding the Trojans scoreless in the third period.

FOURTH QUARTER

OHIO STATE 24, USC 7

A scoreless second half ended the way the game started with Ohio State pressuring the USC offense and again forcing turnovers. Congrats to the decorated senior class, finishing with an impressive 61-6 overall record and four New Year's Six level bowl wins.
