For this project I made a background track to accompany a video my wife made to document her snowboarding trip to Stevens Pass.

I decided to take on this project because I was constantly annoyed by the default background music you here in a lot of vlog, and videos on Facebook and YouTube. I feel that music for personal videos should feel personal.

Next I built a soft rythme from a different soft drum sounds. I avoided hard kicks and snares because I was trying to build a soft background track to match a snow themed video.

I then built a chord progression and melody from a d and an f chord with differing augmenting notes. I only used two chords because I didn’t want to get over complicated with this track. I used single high notes to break repetition of chords and give music a trill in the background.

Put all together the sound makes a great custom made background track for a snowboarding video.
