Questions to ask your Wedding Photographer Sublett Studios

1.) What style(s) do you specialize in?

We specialize in telling your love story, through authentic images that capture your true self.

2.) Will the photos be retouched and color balanced? Is that done before I see the proofs?

All images are provided to our clients with full edits before viewing. We give our brides all rights to the images with download capabilities. All images are high quality and ready to print anytime.

3.) How many weddings have you shot, and how many do you do in a year?

I have shot over 200 weddings since 2007. I used to book 40 weddings a year, but now photograph 25 per year.

4.) What is your favorite part of a wedding day, and time of year to shoot?

There is something so special when the groom sees his bride for the first time. It brings me to tears to see all the emotion and how much he is head over heels in love with her.

5.) Do you shoot both digital and film?

I shoot only digital, just because now that we are in a digital age, dslr cameras have come very far. I shoot with top of the line equipment so images come out crystal clear.

6.) What exactly is included in your packages?

All my collections include all rights to the images plus online gallery with download capabilities. You can expect a complimentary engagement session, along with an additional photographer and signature wedding album.

7.) How many hours of coverage do we get? What is the charge for overtime?

It depends on what collection you go with. My starting point is 5 hours, then I go from there. It's only $100 an hour to add onto your existing photo coverage. I always go over a preliminary timeline with my clients to ensure everything gets taken care of.

8.) What is the deposit and total fee?

There is a $500 deposit to hold your date, which goes towards your final payment. What you see in the collection price is the total amount... no hidden fees. Applicable taxes are already included in the price.

9.) Will you be my actual photographer, or will it be one of your associates?

I will absolutely be your very own wedding day photographer! I have associates, but they are designated to be my helper/2nd shooter for the day.

10.) Do you have backup photographers who will shoot the wedding if you're sick?

Yes!!! I have professional photographers who are capable and willing to take over for me if I am under the weather. I would still be there of course unless I am too sick to make it work.

11.) Will there be a second shooter or any assistants? Is there an additional fee for each (if applicable)?

With my top collection I provide a 2nd professional photographer to help cover your wedding. This typically doubles your images. If you decide to add an additional shooter to your coverage, it's $300 extra for the whole time.

12.) How long after the wedding do we get to see the photos?

I typically have images ready for download in 1 - 2 weeks! So when your back from your honeymoon, they are ready to view!

13.) How do you coordinate with my videographer? How do you envision working together?

We always work great with any videographer. We even try to incorporate more movement in our photos to accommodate the videographer.

14.) Have you ever shot at my venue(s) before?

I have photographed weddings at various different places. When I speak to clients we go over the locations beforehand. If I have not been to the venue before, I always check it out prior.

15.) Will you follow a shot list? Or do you prefer to have free reign to capture the festivities how you see fit?

I always ask my clients to provide me with a list of everyone they would like to have in photos. Also, giving us any details of unique special moments or surprises is always a must.

16.) What are the restrictions for sharing photos online or for publication? Do you own the copyright to the photos?

There are no restrictions on your photos... so share away!!! You also have all rights to your images to do as you wish with them.

17.) Do you bring your own lighting?

I am a natural light photographer, but do bring my own lighting for formal pictures in the church and at reception.

18.) What will you wear?

I am always wearing solid darker colors to blend in, and absolutely in nice dress clothes that are easy to move in.

I hope that you found these questions and answers very helpful. If there is a question on your list that's not on ours, let us know! We want to make sure you know exactly what your getting when your hire Sublett Studios for your wedding.
