SINGING OUT. Seniors Mayher Kaur and Jeremy Ng sing “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus during an open microphone session. Mayher said she sat in the front and watched performances during most of the event. “It was amazing. It was probably one of my best Art in the Darks,” Mayher said. “I’ve come every year.”
WITH FRIENDS. Singing "My Friends," part of the "Living in a Book" album she produced in fifth grade, senior Ariel Montague takes over the microphone and performs with senior Gershon Stein. Ariel released six other songs in the album including "What If," "Living in a Book," "Worship the Ruler," "Aftertaste of Agony," "Wanna' live now," and "Lovin' you." Ariel said she still sings her songs with friends during Karaoke.
HUNTING TOGETHER. To complete one of the Hunt tasks, the Jalapeño Poppers sing Story of My Life by One Direction. The team came in second in the scavenger hunt behind "Bravo 1 Strikeforce." Reflecting on the night, sophomore Alina Susani, one of the Jalapeño Poppers members, said, "Watching the other performances was also fun because most of the songs were recognizable, so it was fun to sing along and to see the talent that some people have."
MICROPHONE UP. Seniors Ben Cifu, Marisa McGehee and Grace Brady sing "Que Será Será" by Pink Martini. As members of the Artsfest board, Ben and Grace helped plan Artsfest. "I've gone every year. It's very fun," Ben said. "This year was a little more stressful because I had help set up."
HENNA MEMORIES. Creating Beyoncé’s “B delta K” logo, junior Lea Rebollo Baum draws henna on junior Jackson Bauer for his Artsfest workshop Life is but a Dream the next day. The workshop featured a Beyoncé documentary along with trivia and album drawing. Jackson said he got henna to remember the night.
