Aurora borealis at Suomen Latu Kiilopää by Sampsa Sulonen

Kiilopää is an excellent place for northern lights watching and photography

Fell Centre Kiilopää is conveniently located right next to the Urho Kekkonen National park, the second largest protected national park in Finland. This guarantees very little light pollution in the area which is perfect for photographing the aurora borealis.

Next week long Aurora borealis photography workshop will be held there on 5.-12. January 2019

During the week you will learn what kind of cameras, lenses, camera settings and techniques are best for capturing the aurora borealis, what kind of gear is nice to have for longer trips during cold winter time and how to process the photos in Lightroom.

We will also be delighted by the peace and quiet of the winter landscapes of Lapland, enjoy good food and of course relax in the wonderful smoke sauna and try some ice hole swimming!
