-1 = 100 ISO
0 = 50 ISO
+1 = 25 ISO
+2 = 12 ISO
The camera makes the correct 2/3 of a stop filter-factor reduction in speed when the built-in 85 filter is put into place.
Filter Selector
The Colour Conversion A (CCA) filter can be switched in or out of the camera. When using DAYLIGHT balanced film in daylight, switch the filter OUT of position by putting it to the BULB. The filter only needs to be IN in daylight with TUNGSTEN balanced films.

Shooting Speed

Shutter Speed
9fps = 1/18
12 fps = 1/24
18 fps = 1/36
24 fps = 1/48
32 fps = 1/60
Single frame: 1/20
Note: To take single frames, you use a cable release which screws into a dedicated single-frame socket next to the shutter release button.
Viewfinder
The viewfinder is through-the-lens (TTL) meaning that there is no parallax effect, so you shoot what you see. The viewfinder has the focussing prism in the centre. Zoom in, then focus using the microprism circle, then zoom out again.
The f: stops are also shown, from 22 to 1.8.
Likewise, the Lightmetering is also TTL as there is no external "electric eye."

Accessories
My first time using a Zenit Quarz 1x8S-2 Super 8 camera.
I had just flown into Adelaide and found this camera in a secondhand shop near the airport. I was eager to test it out. I put aside my Leicina Special and quickly learnt how to use a hand light metre. I’m quite impressed with the results.
