Hugo's 80 Years in Grand Forks
The odds are that every person living in Grand Forks and old enough to walk have been inside a Hugo's grocery store. More than likely the same is true for many generations of Grand Forks residents. For 80 years Hugo's has served the Grand Forks area, beginning with one store and now at 5 locations locally as well as in Crookston, Jamestown, Grafton, Park Rapids and Thief River Falls. Jeff Westrom, long time employee (42 years) spoke to the South Forks Lions Club on Tuesday, November 2.
Jeff spoke of the many changes and history of Hugo's. Click on the button below to learn more of the long history, commitment and role of Hugo's to the Grand Forks area. Please note the pictures above of the first store and Pure Food Store advertisement. Thank you Jeff for the excellent presentation on one of the most important businesses and families in the region.
