Highlighted Opportunities
- National Endowment for the Humanities Humanities Connections Implementation Grants, Sept. 19: The NEH Humanities Connections program seeks to expand the role of the humanities in undergraduate education at two- and four-year institutions. Awards will support innovative curricular approaches that foster productive partnerships among humanities faculty and their counterparts in the social and natural sciences and in pre-service or professional programs, such as business, engineering, health sciences, law, computer science, and other technology-driven fields, in order to encourage and develop new integrative learning opportunities for students.
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Small Research Grant Program (R03) Foundation, Nov. 4: The AHRQ encourages Small Research Grant (R03) applications and expresses AHRQ portfolio priority areas of interest for on-going small research projects. The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of health services research projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
- BrightFocus Foundation Alzheimer’s Disease Research Grant, Nov. 4: The goal of the BrightFocus Foundation Alzheimer’s Disease Research Grant program is to accelerate our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, as well as develop innovative approaches to better diagnose, prevent or delay the progress of the disease. Preference is made for exciting pilot projects that would not, at their present stage, be competitive for large government or industry awards. Typically, these awards are made to early stage investigators, or to more established investigators who are proposing particularly innovative research.
- National Science Foundation Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL), Nov. 6: The Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) program seeks to advance new approaches to and evidence-based understanding of the design and development of STEM learning opportunities for the public in informal environments; provide multiple pathways for broadening access to and engagement in STEM learning experiences; advance innovative research on and assessment of STEM learning in informal environments; and engage the public of all ages in learning STEM in informal environments. This is a limited submission program. Interested applicants must complete the REDE limited submission approval process.
What's Coming Up?
eTRACS is Coming: In October, ECU will move to a new tool for sponsored program proposal development, routing and submission – eTRACS! The new system will include many features designed to streamline the process of creating and submitting proposals:
- Profiles: Populated from Banner to autofill proposal fields.
- Direct Submission to Grants.gov: For Federal proposals, eTRACS creates the submission document and delivers it to Grants.gov.
- Online Budget Creation: No more external spreadsheets and eTRACS already has salary, position, and contact info for your project personnel.
- Click here to see more changes coming with eTRACS and follow the entire eTRACS implementation process online.
Office of Faculty Excellence: The Office of Faculty Excellence offers sessions on various research platforms, including NVivo, Tableau, Qualtrics, SPSS, and others. Sign up for workshops through the OFE Calendar.
- Using Grant Databases to Find Funding Opportunities, Aug. 27: This hands-on session will focus on searching for grant funding opportunities in various databases such as SPIN and Foundation Directory Online.
