Director statement

Since 2011, after working for many years with theater, documentaries and other major tasks in the television industry, the goal was clear that I would move into the feature film format. [Anori] is a feature film that has been very important both in my personal life and in the storytelling that has been following me for seven years. These years have also been characterized by a lot of self-development and a lot of practical experiences with the longer format, which has moved the film into a more experienced and artistic tale. I love to play with the dramatics of my writing, work on the complexity of the human being and especially the tension between the beautiful and the ugly, both the emotional and the visual. [Anori] means “a quiet wind” in Greenlandic. In Greenland you are deeply dependent on wind and weather. The Greenlandic living conditions have always been that the ocean, the waves, the ice and especially the wind and big storms 'MALIK' have contributed to many lives lost to nature. In the storm/wind you can never navigate what will happen.
