The Final Days! Alcudia Town!

And so the holiday draws to a close once again!! It has been a while since we were away as a 'family' group and they seem to have survived!! I have been out and about and have enjoyed my trip!

I have been here a few times over the last few years and have done fairly similar things each time.......but that is why they come here!

But they did do something different this time! They went to Alcudia Town......as usual......but not on market day as they have tended to do previously! Their plan had been to do Old Pollensa on Monday and Alcudia Markets on Tuesday! But they swapped it round as they have never been to Alcudia when the market isn't on!

Well, what a decision that was! No market stalls, no shouting 'Looky, looky' from every stall holder that you passed.....and NO crowds, crowded street and so much going on you couldn't see the wood for the trees!

Don't get me wrong......market day can be fun....even challenging! But this time I got to see Alcudia, I saw the narrow traditional streets, the shops and cafes normally thronged or hidden by the stalls and the crowds! And I managed to get up on the old city walls to see some rooftop views of the town!

It was stunning and really could give Old Pollensa a run for its money! This will be a must see visit again next time I make it back!

As well as Alcudia they walked the entire beachfront in a oner today.....all six miles plus.....in the soaring, high temperature!

hen they went for dinner to celebrate An anniversary if some sort!! Way before my time and had something to do with pearls!!!!

The next day, the final full day we were up and off back to Old Pollensa for alas the wander about and a visit to the lovely shops, one of our favourite cafes and another walk up the 365 steps to Calvari Church!

The day continued with lunch out, some sunbathing on the roof by the pool, a walk along the Pine Walk and then out for dinner one last time!|

They are packed and ready for the off tomorrow! I just hope the airport is a little easier than when they arrived!!

I'm hoping the Dons make it through on Thursday to the next round of the Europa League as it means I might get a trip to Cyprus for the net round!! I will cross everything I can!!!
