We are excited to announce our forthcoming Research Forum for the non-medical research delivery workforce across the East Midlands (such as Research Nurses, AHP's, Practitioners, Research Managers and Administrators).
Our annual Research Forum aims to support research delivery staff by promoting collaborative working across the East Midlands, sharing information, learning from each other and generally to create an opportunity for networking.
The theme for this year’s forum will be Digital, looking at how we can improve research delivery through the use of digital.
The day will include a number of informative presentations from network staff, colleagues across the region and from the MHRA. There will be time for discussion, reflection and most importantly for networking. This year we will be using Conversation Starter, a digital solution to enable networking conversations during the event. A light buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The event will take place at:
10.00am-3.00pm 17th September 2019
Trent Vineyard Conference Centre, Unit 1, Easter Park, Lenton Ln, Nottingham NG7 2PX

CONVERSATION STARTER
To help you meet the most interesting participants at the NIHR CRN East Midlands Research Forum, we are using a tool called Conversation Starter.
With Conversation Starter, you can browse participants and send invitations for meetings in advance. That's why we recommend to complete your networking profile as soon as possible. Don't miss out on any opportunities!
How Conversation Starter works:
1. Create your profile: What kind of people would you like to meet? What expertise can you offer?
2. Send invitations to participants with an interesting request or offer.
3. Plan meetings: Conversation Starter figures out the ideal time and provides an easy-to-find meeting point.
You will receive an email direct from conversation starter 2 weeks before the event to help you start planning your meetings

Table Discussion
During the table discussions facilitators collected key words and submitted them digitally to our Research Forum wordcloud. The more times the word was used, the bigger it appears...
This gave us a really interesting insight into the main topics and meant we were able to capture the key points. You can see the results below.
During the discussions each table made notes on flipchart paper...

There were lots of pictures taken on the day, we are working through them and they will be appearing here shortly!
