Moon Cycles PRoject based learning in the Primary Grades

Students in Ms. DiFeo's first grade class were asked: Does the moon stay the same over time? They were asked to learn about the moon and share what they learned with each other and other students at Proctor Elementary School.

They began researching....

They meet in teams to create a way to show what they learned about the moon.

They worked with each other to create projects to share. They created posters, screencasts, a diorama, and a song.

These were then shared in a learning festival for the Kindergarten and fifth grades!

Students proudly shared their screencasts, posters, and dioramas with others students, teachers and the principal, practicing their oral language, presentation, and reading skills in an authentic environment. Thanks to Ms. DiFeo for creating this plan and for starting project based learning in the primary grades!
