LETTER FROM MCRC'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND BOARD CHAIR

Although this AGM report is about the year 2019, we are writing this letter in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic.

Wow.....what a year...

Preparation of our Annual Report is a valuable experience to review the last year, take note of what we accomplished, how we accomplished it and with what results. It’s a time for reflection, to learn and to revisit our vision and mission and to chart the next year of our strategic plan. This year is much different. Instead, we find ourselves cherishing what used to be and questioning what will be.

MCRC’s vision of a safe, caring community where children and families are valued, grow and succeed remains strong and true at all levels of our organization. This is our vision, will always be our vision and will lead us through the “new normal” created by this pandemic. Now more than ever we truly know what we mean by a safe, caring community and how all children, their families and individuals must be valued, must be able to grow and must succeed. This pandemic has made us acutely aware of our children and families’ need for sustainability, for stability and the very basic human right of equality. Too many have been impacted or left behind by this pandemic and our organization will make a difference.

MCRC is made up of dedicated and talented staff who are prepared to hold strong for the thousands of children and families they serve. Although our services and supports may look different or be delivered in alternative ways......they will continue to be held to the highest measure of quality and to the best and ethical practices.
