What made you choose UAB?

I knew that UAB had a great reputation in the medical field and also provided me with a great opportunity to continue playing the sport that I love. I also felt an instant connection with the coaching staff and saw the culture of the program as something I wanted to be a part of.

What do you intended major and what your career path?

I am majoring in Nursing and hope to work in pediatrics upon graduating.

How have you adjusted to campus life so far?

It did not take me long to get adjusted to living on campus because my teammates were there to make me feel comfortable and at home from the start. While I’ve only been here for a month, it feels like it could have been a whole year already.

What were some of the challenges you faced between the beginning of the pandemic and moving onto campus?

It was definitely more of a challenge at the beginning of the pandemic to keep motivation up, but as the date to move onto campus got closer, it became easier to focus on my goals. It was also hard mentally to go from not having a real match since December of last year to jumping into a new playing environment.

Did you develop any new hobbies while we in quarantine?

I started going for really long distant runs because I was so bored and I ended up actually enjoying it. I also biked a lot played a ton of spikeball.
