Maura Chadwick Popular Alliance for Undocumented Workers' Rights - Fall 2018

Journey

/ˈjərnē/: an act of traveling from one place to another

A journey is typically imagined as physical travel - you start in a location and end in another one somewhere different. My journey throughout this semester has been one of a journey to a different level of understanding.

The Popular Alliance for Undocumented Workers’ Rights (PAUWR) advocates for justice, equality, and dignity for undocumented restaurant workers by organizing to raise public awareness and educate workers in order to achieve fair immigration laws and policies.

PAUWR began in 2015 as a collective made up of restaurant workers, owners, advocates, and organizers. It has grown to include lawyers, foodies, farmers, and students. All people who make up the food system or consume it.
