Coming out of the year 2020, we have jumped into numerous social media trends with popular platforms such as TikTok and Instagram continuing to grow. From all categories including celebrities, makeup, dancing and even food- we have seen many trends come up on our phone screens over the past several months. Especially with everyone stuck at home due to quarantine, many people have joined in on the fun online as a new trend pops us every few days. Here are a few popular trends that we have seen so far.
Full Face of Foundation. Makeup routines and trends go way back, but they are still going strong as of now. Recently, a different trend has come up which was started by TikToker Meredith Duxbury who starts off each look with a considerable amount of foundation and concealer. In each video, her fans watch on as she spreads a whole lot of foundation/concealer all over her face. Watchers continue to be in awe to see how she ends up with a great looking end result. Seeing how well it looks on her people have been doing the same thing and making videos following her makeup routine. Another entertaining factor in her videos is her hardcore lip syncing to popular songs. As her videos became more and more popular, many others have followed her lead to make similar videos.
Show Yourself 3 January's In A Row. As we have just passed the first year of 2021, a recent trend that came up was people showing videos/pictures of themselves three years in a row to showcase how much they have changed. As all of our lives have changed due to covid-19 being over a year old now, many people stuck at home have gone through at home quarantine makeovers including new hairstyles or a new wardrobe. This trend allows people to reveal how much they have grown over the past several years and who they have become today.
Iced coffee. If you’re anything like me, you cannot go longer than a day without a cup of iced coffee. However, many people have ditched their Starbucks runs early on during quarantine due to this ice coffee trend that became popular. This trend, called the iced coffee trend, became a thing everyone was making in the comfort of their homes. Due to how easy it was to make and how aesthetically pleasing it looked while preparing it, this coffee trend became popular real fast. First off with straight black coffee getting poured over a pile of ice in a cup, adding creamer, milk, or anything else you would like then making it a perfect drink with the perfect amount of whip cream or froth. There has been an account that is especially used ice coffee as the main image of his/her account and has actually gained about 1.4 million followers of coffee videos. If you haven’t tried this yet, it surely will become part of your routine as soon as you try it.
