The Lowdown: Tyler Pizzi is a junior wrestler and has been on varsity since his freshman year. He was recently named “Most Outstanding Wrestler” at the Lakeland Tournament and came in 4th place at 152 pounds in the BCCA tournament.

Expectations: “Hopefully the team can make a run and go far in sectionals this year,” Pizzi said. “[Personally,] the plan is to get to Atlantic City [for the State Individual Championships] and bring some other guys with me.”

What He Likes Most About His Sport: “I like that it’s an individual sport and you don’t have to rely on anyone else,” Pizzi said. “It’s just you out there on the mat and it’s [all about] whoever wants it more.”

Best Sport Memory: Winning the state sectionals freshman year against Sparta

Best Thing About PV: “I like how it’s pretty close knit here at PV and [the students have] a lot of options to do what [they] want,” Pizzi said.
