BankVic Careers Website Privacy Statement

OVERVIEW

In handling your personal information, Police Financial Services Limited ABN 33 087 651 661 (‘BankVic’, ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’) is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (‘Privacy Act’) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This Privacy Statement applies to users of BankVic Careers websites (‘Careers Sites’) which are maintained on behalf of BankVic by its service provider, JobAdder. It should be read in conjunction with BankVic’s Privacy Policy which can be found at https://bankvic.com.au/privacy

This Privacy Statement explains how your Personal Information (being information capable of identifying you as an individual) will be treated when you:

  • visit these publicly accessible pages on the Careers Sites.
  • create a profile to search or apply for jobs.
  • apply for a job advertised on the Careers Sites.

WHEN DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The following information may be automatically recorded from your device or computer when you visit https://clientapps.jobadder.com/90145/bankvic-careers:

  • Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer, tablet, mobile or other device (each being a Device) to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, information you post online either on our website or on a third-party social media site to which we have access.
  • Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from our website (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number.

We refer to information we collect automatically as ‘Device Information’. Some Device information may be Personal Information. However, we will not attempt to identify you from this Device Information unless required by law or to investigate suspected improper activity in relation to the Careers Sites or to assist in law enforcement. Personal Information will also be collected if you create a profile to enable you to make an application for a position that is advertised on the Careers Sites, which is done through a related internet portal.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED WHEN YOU APPLY FOR A JOB?

If you choose to use the jobs portal to apply for employment with BankVic, you will be asked to create a personal profile and provide additional information as part of the job application process. This includes information such as your name, address and contact details, and your employment history.

You may also be asked to voluntarily supply some diversity information as part of your personal profile, including your gender, background and other personal information.

Information collected when creating a profile or a job application will form your personal profile in a database maintained by our service provider.

HOW DO WE USE THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

If you create a profile or apply for a job advertised on our Careers Sites, the information you provide may be used to:

  • assess your suitability for the specific vacancy you have applied for;
  • assess whether you are eligible to fill other vacant positions that arise at a later date at BankVic, and to make consequential offers of employment;
  • perform checks relating to your suitability for employment (to the extent permitted by law) – including background checks;
  • advise you of other employment opportunities within BankVic that may interest you; and
  • seek feedback from you about your experience with the job application process (including your use of this website), for the purpose of improving the job application process for candidates generally, and enhancing this website.

If you are successful and employed by BankVic. Your Personal Information will be transferred to our employee records.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

BankVic and its service provider, JobAdder, have access to all information referred to above that is collected through these websites. JobAdder only use personal information at our direction.

In addition, when you provide personal information as part of your personal profile and/or in your job application, the information may be provided to and/or accessible by:

  • your referees;
  • security and law enforcement organisations; and
  • other third parties who perform services on behalf of BankVic during the recruitment process.

You should be aware that our service provider may also store personal information on servers owned by third parties outside Australia, who in turn may be required to disclose information to third parties under laws of foreign jurisdictions, such as for law enforcement purposes.

SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

BankVic and our service provider have policies and procedures that aim to protect the Personal Information that we have under our control.

Once your Personal Information comes into our possession, we will take reasonable steps to protect that information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

However, we cannot guarantee that any information transmitted via the internet by us, or yourself, is entirely secure. You therefore use our Careers Sites at your own risk.

We will remove personal information from our system when it is no longer required.

CAN YOU REFUSE TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION THROUGH THIS WEBSITE?

When you create your profile or make an application, you can choose not to provide diversity information without any consequences for the recruitment process.

However, the other information requested for inclusion in your personal profile or when submitting a job application is considered important for processing any application and assessing your suitability for employment. If you do not provide all of the information, it may make it difficult for us to contact you, to provide you with further information, or to assess your application.

CAN I ACCESS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION OR ASK FURTHER QUESTIONS?

You can gain access to information contained in your personal profile in the database, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. We will give you reasons if we deny access.
