Void Girl #1 The Trial Proper (Ongoing)

>Increasing Ocular Brightness
>Immediately check if Geri's OK

Your vision fades in.

Seems your optical sensors shut down to protect you from the flash accompanying Geri's 'Giga Plane Smasher'. You zip over to Geri post haste, and find her amid a pile of uncomfy-looking rocks.

>Geri, are you ok?! Are you hurt? Please be ok...

GERI "I think so. Just a little... bloody."

> Geri if you try to sacrifice the universe to the dark lord we will not give you dessert for dinner.

GERI "Dark Lord... whuh? You sure you didn't land on your brain-chip-thing? Why would I do something like that? I don't think we even have a 'dark lord' right now."

She gives you a suspicious look before dusting herself off and taking stock of your surroundings.

Seems you landed quite high up, wherever you are.

>Girl, your portal making technique sure works but maaayyy need a liiittle more ...finesse.

GERI "I get the worst feeling I failed my exam."

> Hey girl, it ain't over til your teacher gives the grade. There's still ways to salvage this.
> Go for robot hug.

You bob close and flash the word 'HUG?' across your display. Touched by your concern, Geri pulls you close for a one-armed embrace.

GERI "You're right. I can worry about whether we passed or failed once we actually finish the exam..."

She pulls away, uncertainty flattening out her smile. A cold breeze whips her hair about her scratched face.

GERI "It's just too bad I don't know where to start. My thoughts are still a little scrambled... I can't seem to..."

Geri's expression tightens, suddenly. A moment's pause. Then she shakes her head like a wet dog and makes a frustrated noise.

GERI "You know what? Nevermind. I'm sure my memories'll come back soon. I heard somewhere that irresponsible planeswalking can mess with your head some, but it's rarely permanent. Just annoying."

>Uh... were your eyes always like that?

She shoots you a worried look.

GERI "Huh? What's wrong with my eyes?"

Frowning, Geri feels at her face.

GERI "If this is a joke, it's a pretty mean-spirited one. I've got a squicky-thing about eye injuries. You're freaking me out, Geno!"

You bob apologetically.

> We want to scan you again. See if Antlers left any... residue... or anything.

Geri blinks. The concept of 'Antlers residue' makes her face twist with disgust.

GERI "Only if you promise never to say that again. He seemed like a pretty okay deer-man, but like... residue? Ew."

Geri brushes herself off and stands before you. A bird calls in the distance. You focus your collective energy, and mana encapsulates your chassis in an electric blue glow.

GERI "Hmm... having such a low mana concentration makes spellcasting hard for you, right? Maybe it'll help if we're touching."

Careful not to hurt her, your energies settle.

She reaches forward and rests her palm on your viewport. Your mana spills forth, searching...
