Nelson Mandela Elizabeth bell

Nelson was born on July 18th 1918
Nelson Mandela was an amazing leader. He was extremely devoted to unify Africa and end segregation.

Nelson Mandela was a leader of the anti-apartheid movement to try and end the difference between how the black and whites where being treated.

He was imprisoned in 1964 and sentenced there until death. We was not forgotten while he was in jail. In fact, he became an idol for black rights. While in prison, he was offered many releases if he stopped the protests, he declined every offer.
Nelson won the Nobel Piece Prize in 1993 for his work for the peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and for laying the foundations for a new democratic South Africa.
He became the first black president of Africa on May 10th 1994.

Nelson died on December 5th 2013
